Congrats to Jen, who met her one-year weight loss goal today!
January 20 will mark my own one-year get-healthier milestone. While my numerical results may not be as spectacular as Jen's, I feel a thousand times better than I did last year. My upper abdomen, thanks to a 1-hour pilates session 2-3 times per week, is developing a little definition both in the front and on the sides. I will never have a "washboard" flat tummy, but for me, any improvement is amazing because this is unfortunately where I tend to store extra weight. When I do the final year-end measurements in a couple weeks, we'll find out exactly how far I've come and what my next step will be.
My workouts for the past week:
Sunday = elliptical machine, 23 min. (400 cal) + 10 lb. hand weights, 5 min.
Monday = pilates (intense), 60 min. (400 cal)
Tuesday = elliptical machine, 23 min. (400 cal) + 10 lb. hand weights, 5 min.
Wednesday = rest
Thursday = rest
Friday = pilates (intense), 60 min. (400 cal)
Saturday = rest
I have not taken take three days off like this for a very long time, but I blame it on the holiday and PMS. Starting today my usual 23-minute elliptical machine workout will be increased to 30 minutes: those few extra minutes really make me work harder and it burns another 100 calories. I'm going to push myself. Let's hope I get results this time!
